These days there are a large variety of strollers on the market and the choice can get overwhelming. In this entry I will attempt to break down the various types of strollers plus the pros and cons for each.

Standard Stroller

The regular one child stroller comes in many different flavors these days. You have the cheaper brands such as Graco, the build quality on these can tend to be poorer and they are usually more bulky and heavier. Price on the cheaper strollers start out around 100 dollars.

At the higher end of the standard stroller market are brands such as critically acclaimed Bugaboo and Phil And Ted brands. These higher end strollers usually use lightweight materials such as aluminum and are loaded down with features such as reversible and  multi-position seat as you would expect because the price point for these strollers can run you 700 – 800 dollars very easily.

Double Stroller

As the name would suggest these strollers are what you should looking to purchase if you are wanting to transport two kids around with ease. These strollers tend to be a lot wider and less easy to maneuver that the standard single stroller although there are higher end brands such as the Phil And Teds stroller that comes with a doubles kit so you can easily add and remove a second seat to the back of the stroller when you wish.

Jogging Stroller

This is the stroller you should be looking for if you want to get some exercise but also wish to take your child along for the ride. Many of the better jogging strollers come with a fixed front wheel so you have a smooth straight run without having to fight to keep control of the stroller. Many of the higher end jogging strollers have features such as built in odometer and and even a built in sound system.

Umbrella Stroller

These umbrella strollers are very basic. They simply unfold and the seat is usually made of fabric. They are lightweight and useful if you are just wanting a stroller to use for shopping or other chores that won’t require your child to spend much time in the stroller. These stroller feature very basic functions such as rear wheel brakes and three point harness.

Sit And Stand Stroller

This stroller can be a great choice if you have a new baby and an older toddler. The baby sits up front ina comfy baby seat while the older toddler can either sit or stand on a  platform  on the rear of the stroller if they get tired of walking around.

Travel System Strollers

Most of the travel system strollers consist of a standard stroller and baby car seat that can be attached to the stroller with ease. You can then take the baby out of your vehicle without having to take them out of the car seat and once they get older you still have a very comfy standard stroller for you child to sit in.
